If I here in work, I usually find my way in here in the office, I always find my way into this location. It may make or even break my trip to any particular time. But mostly commemorate it. Smile smiles smile.

The article incorrectly states that BPA and polychlorinated biphenyls are the same substance. They are not.

Interesting article, but MORE important than water itself is the PLASTIC POLLUTES theory. Please tell readers to use REUSABLE bottles, not plastic.

I enjoyed the article and the headline didn't particularly turn me off or on. But I totally agree with all of your points about water bottles. One point that I wanted to add is that water bottles are horrible for our environment. There is way too much plastic being consumed. At least 40 million bottles of water are consumed every day and most of them end up in the trash (not recycling), or even more unfortunately became litter. These billions of bottles take up valuable landfill space, leak toxic additives into the groundwater and take a whopping 1,000 years to biodegrade. I recommend reusable bottles with out BPA and would support schools banning plastic drink bottles.

I found your article very enlightening--and the title made me want to read it. I am an administrator in Nashville, where we have just experienced a huge flood that damaged many homes. I have noticed that one of the most common commodity offered to clean up workers and home owners in the floodway was bottled water--by the case. Yes, we had to conserve water immediately following the flood, but now as clean up continues, those bottles are making up a large portion of the trash.

In our classroom, many teachers have allowed the water bottles on the desks, too. Recently I started to notice that some of the water was colored. The teachers were allowing the kids to put instant flavoring into the water. Some of the flavoring contains artificial sweetener. That practice worries me. We are reading a Jensen book in preparation for August inservice and I plan to point out that all of our classroom are equipped with a water fountain.

Dear Tehnaz

You make a good point about people remembering the headline. I'll be more careful about that.

Glad you were able to extract the real story-- that
the containers may pose the bigger problem...

Thanks for reading the blog these days.

Best to you.

Mr Jensen

I am very annoyed by the way that some of you 'experts' chose to write about some issues to sensationalise them... and in this case get on the publicity band wagon.

There is a lot of truth in this article
but you have ruined it with your headline!

Your tirade is against water containers and not the fact that hydration helps learning. (not over hydration, please no one in their right minds recommends that!)

If you know anything about mass public and advertising psychology, the headline sticks and you have actually ended up doing a disservice to your own argument and the children who might benefit... because that's all most will remember.

Water ... Colossal hoax!

Thanks so much for that! For making our jobs as teachers even harder.

Colossal disappoint!
