That’s a strong claim, but I can back it up. Listen, if your students come from poverty, you have unique learning, social and behavior challenges. Poverty can have nasty effects on the student’s brain. But the bigger challenge is fostering equity at your school.
Unless your staff believes it is possible to change and wants to make the changes and actually implements them, your odds of success are pretty low. This message is all about how to change the odds. I will show you how it can be done and how it has already been done across the country.

Do your students:
Act out, talk back, shout or misbehave?
Start below grade level in reading and math
Consume WAY too much of your precious time?
Have an attitude that infects others in the class?
Underperform from lack of effort or motivation?
Miss classes, are truant or are at risk to dropout?
Arrive at or below grade level and continue to struggle?
If so, lean in and keep reading. You are about to learn about a revolutionary program that has 1000’s of educators saying this as they leave…
“It’s been incredible! Many great strategies to begin implementing for the school year – we have already started planning! Well worth the time and travel. It will transform you as an educator!” – Cahill M., Charlotte, NC
Please let me introduce myself (in the photo). I am a former classroom teacher and author of 31 books including Teaching with Poverty in Mind, Enriching the Brain, Engaging Students with Poverty in Mind and Poor Students Rich Teaching. But my real passion has been helping struggling students become a success. In fact, it was the subject of my doctoral dissertation for my PhD. Our team of expert trainers only uses engaging, evidence-based tools and together we design the course you’re considering at the moment.
What our research uncovered are not just the highly corrosive effects of poverty on the brain, but also highly effective factors that turn out to be of MASSIVE value when applied a specific way. We verified these strategies by working with hundreds of Title 1 schools.
Our training staff has worked with over 800 Title 1 Schools. One school I worked with twice has 760 secondary students, with 100% on free and reduced lunch. None had parents with a college degree and 93% of the students are of color. But this school is listed every year in U.S. News and World Report’s Annual “Best 100 Schools in America.” And, every year, 95% (or more) are accepted to a top university.
Do you still think success is impossible? Listen: impossible means nothing—if you know what to do and how to do it.
The school above had ONE driving mission: 1) every student will be the 1st in family history to attend college. Their plan was to build equity for every single student.
Yes, you will get the exact strategies they use to do this!
Have I got your attention? Are you interested in knowing how this school (and hundreds of others) makes jaw-dropping miracles happen every year? If so, you’re ready for…

Unfortunately, there’s a cynicism among some educational leaders that says, “I won’t be at this school much longer. Besides, there’s not much I could do anyways.”
They might be right about leaving their school soon. But they’re dead wrong in thinking there’s not much they can do now. But you can now learn precisely what these schools do and how they do it. Here’s what a past participant said:
“Many of my students went from ‘not proficient’ to meeting benchmarks in just one semester. The growth in my class was one for the record books. My students improved in all areas and I rose above the district and state average in just one year. Most importantly, many students told me I was the best teacher they ever had.” – Janelle, H. math teacher, OR
Pause for a minute and let that comment soak in…is that what you were looking and hoping for?
You see, it’s easy to look at the statistics and just give up. But do not give up! There is good news. Our expert team has done the homework. Many schools are succeeding. We have found them. I’ve read the 722 published studies on high-poverty and high-achievement schools; there are lots of good ideas out there. Most likely, as a school leader, you too, already know the concepts.
But I have discovered what REALLY matters most and what doesn’t. And now, I’ve put these special factors into a fun, highly engaging, classroom-practical, research-based, 3-Day “Engaging with Poverty and Equity in Mind” event.
Now let’s dig in… What exactly will you get?
